Our purpose is to understand and inform the community about aging services and supports that make it possible for older adults
to age well at home and in the community. Members assess the needs
of the aging population in our community and report these findings
to the Louisa County Board of Supervisors to inform their decisions.
About Us
The Louisa County Commission on Aging (COA) is comprised of members appointed by the Louisa County Board of Supervisors
and is funded by county monies and individual donations. The Commission’s purpose is to gain insights
into aging in our community and provide these insights to the Board of Supervisors to inform decisions on issues
such as transportation, medical care, and caregiving. The COA fulfills this mission
by working with residents and community organizations to understand the needs of older adults and their caregivers,
supporting local aging-related events, holding
monthly public meetings
and reporting its findings to the Louisa County Board of Supervisors.
